Located on a hill on the Thyrrenian coast and 30 kms from Palermo, Trabia is a lovely place with an arab past. The hamlet offers pebbly shores and crystal-clear water, in addition to breathtaking landscape as the one that can be admired from Santa Rosalia cliff. Santa Rosalia chapel is very peculiar, by the sea, made of stalactites and stalagmites, and enriched with mosaics and paintings. In the old town you can visit Piazza Lanza, characterised by an ancient and large wash-house and by the ruins of an efficient aqueduct. Not to be missed is the Castle, raised by the sea for defensive reasons. Built on the ruins of an arab fortress, during the XVI century passed into the hands of the Norman-Swabian dynasty that re-built and fortified it, until it became property of the Princes Lanza who, across the centuries, used it as a plant for the glue industry first, and for biscuits and tuna fish then.
The central train station of Palermo is 30 kms away while the airport Falcone-Borsellino is 60 kms away from the apartment.
