Pollara is also known for being the location of Massimo Troisi's 1994 film “Il Postino”.
It is a small and very calm town and only has two restaurants and a bar, "L'Oasi".
The nearest main center is Malfa, about 6 km away which offers various services such as supermarket, pharmacy, post office, bank, car/scooter rentals etc.
