Summary: 3 night stay in Rome. The hotel is in a quiet area of Rome tucked up a size road a few minutes walk from Circo Massimo. We arrived after travelling by 2 trains and a bus and waiting at the front door as it was locked. After about 5 minutes the door was opened by the receptionist. No warm welcome, offer of a welcome drink or apology for the wait at the door. We completed check in and went to our room. We had booked a Junior Suite but were presented with a large room with 2 double beds. It was more like a family room than a junior suite. The hotel and room is decorated in neutral colours which makes it feel subdued and calm but the lighting is way too bright and not positioned well. There were other issues with the room so I went and spoke with reception and was told they were busy and no other rooms were available. A note was made for a manger to speak to me the next day. The room required some maintenance as there was a fair amount of paint damage, the shower valve and head were not in good condition and the dressing table had several marks that looked like burns. The second double bed had also seen better days. I was hoping I would be contacted the next day to resolve my concerns. I was not contacted and didn’t feel I should have had to chase this down. Sadly we didn’t not experience the warm friendly atmosphere here that we have in many other parts of Italy we’ve visited. On a positive note the hotel was clean and had really good breakfast options.
