Holiday apartments in an old monastery in rural surroundings, close to Enna
The holiday apartments are part of an agricultural enterprise in an area belonging to Enna, a few kilometres from town in rural surroundings.
The holiday residence has two independent holiday apartments, which only share entrance stairs. They were restored in 2005 and belong to an estate that was built in the 17th century and which was then an Augustinian monastery. In the 19th century the property was purchased by the family that now owns it and it was converted into an agricultural enterprise. Right next to the building with the apartments you will find the church and the old monastery building. The apartments are charmingly furnished, partly with new and partly with antique furniture, such as wrought-iron beds. There are no washing machine and no Internet connection.
The agricultural enterprise cultivates extra native olive oil and organic almonds. Not all the land around the property belongs to the enterprise or is accessible to guests, so please consult with the owners before going on walks. Cars can be parked on the space in front of the apartments.
The owners live on site and are happy to assist with any queries. You are allowed to bring one or two pets.
The central location in Enna province enables day trips throughout the region. Next to the property there is a B&B with a pool and riding stables, which you can use for a fee (prices are listed on site). There are shopping facilities in Pergusa, part of Enna (11km) and in Enna itself, where you can find all kinds of shops, restaurants and coin-operated launderettes. It is about 30km to Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina, the Greek Theatre in Morgantina and the museum in Aidone.
The studio with a gallery has a living room-kitchen and a sofa bed for one adult or two children (120 x 190cm), another sofa, a TV with satellite channels, a dining table and a brick-built kitchen unit with a fridge, gas stove and mini oven. The bathroom has a shower. Stairs lead to the open gallery with an elegant, antique double bed (160 x 190cm). The studio has air conditioning (cool/warm). Bed linen, towels, kitchen towels and crockery are provided. Baby cot available on request and at no extra cost.
