The houses are in whitewashed stone with idyllic navy blue window shutters. Both houses have been completely renovated, and are in top condition. The charm of the old fisherman's cottage has been preserved with coarse roof beams and an approximately 4 meter high ceiling. Both houses are furnished for comfort, inspired by France and the sea. To make it easier for you, towels, sheets and the final cleaning are provided. The house is disinfected between guests, and the laundry is washed at 60 degrees C.
The main house is about 110 square meters and has a 25 square meter annex. In total there are 5 bedrooms with 3 double and 3 single beds, and 3 bathrooms with showers. Both houses have fully equipped kitchens, each with a refrigerator, freezer, cooker, microwave and dishwasher. Oven and washing machine are in the house. The property is suitable for one or two families. Both houses are equipped to be used all year round with air condition and heat exchangers, and a wood stove in the large house. The lot is 480 square meters, and has several terraces, a small lawn and an outdoor shower. There is a barbecue grill, garden furniture for 12 people and a couple of sun beds. The garden has several trees that provide shade when needed and is surrounded by a hedge and wall. A staircase leads to a roof terrace with a nice views of St Cyprien, the beach and the Pyrenees.
The house is located in a neighbourhood where locals gather. In our block (Quartier Rodin) there is a fish shop, a butcher, a vegetable and wine merchant, a bakery, a newsagent, a hairdresser, a barber shop, and a boules yard, Locally there are also restaurants and bars, and in summer there are restaurants directly on the beach. On Tuesdays and Fridays, there is a market in the quarter with a rich supply of fruit and vegetables, local goods, clothing, etc. There are several supermarkets with wide range of delicacies and groceries at convenient distances. Fresh fish can be purchased at the port each day.
The largest nearby town Perpignan with 118 200 inhabitants. Several small villages with churches, monasteries, museums and vineyards are nearby. A few kilometres away, you will find the Pyrenees with wonderful hiking trails, caves, bird-watcher stations and winter skiing resorts. Spanish Barcelona lies only 200 km away and is easily accessible via the motorway. The tax haven Andorra is also on a day-trip distance.
It is possible to fly from the UK to for example Perpignan, Beziers, Montpellier, Girona and Barcelona. There are trains and busses from these airports to Perpignan. A bus from Perpignan to St. Cyprien Plage costs 1 €.
