Summary: Fabulous location and a fascinating building - highly recommend the little tour that you can take to learn about the history.
The pool is lovely, as is the walking in the countryside around the abbey - other than that there's not a lot to do other than soak up the atmosphere.
We stayed for two dinners and one lunch. A great wine list that includes some very lovely very local wines. The lunch was great, one dinner was good, the other not so much. However, that is my only criticism - a wonderful and highly memorable stay in an exceptional building with great service. Highly recommend.

Summary: Worth the trip! We booked the Abby as a special overnight while visiting some local vineyards and were definitely not disappointed. Up winding roads to the top of a majestic hill with a lovely view. Beautiful grounds and elegant surroundings in addition to the wonderfully accommodating staff, Pasquale and the whole team were amazing. The dinner was one of the best we had during our 2 weeks stay. Fresh cows milk with breakfast too! Definitely worth a side trip just to stay here! Give yourself some time to walk the grounds when you arrive.

Summary: This is an old abandoned monastery that the young owner has turned into a wonderful B&B, with great knowledge of respect for the ancient tradition that the place holds. A little off the road but well worth the trouble. I can't wait to go back.

Summary: We arrived around 9pm, in the dark, after a LONG day of travel... the Abbey is about a half hour drive from Contessa Entellina, and was a VERY welcome site. Its huge, and does not have a front desk, so Marcella, the caretaker greeted us outside. She was beyond welcoming and made sure we were comfortable, and had everything we needed, despite a few special requests. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The room was spacious, clean, and the shower hot. The morning was magical with a view of the courtyard, and we made wonderful new friends during breakfast. A special highlight was the surrounding countryside in the morning, full of birdsongs and beautiful views. A must stay for an authentic "go back in time" visit to central Sicily. An unforgettable visit, our only regret was we didn't stay longer, we can't wait to go back.

Summary: A perfect romantic getaway, definitely to return to. Huge Renaissance abbey, partially restored, with a uniquely authentic touch. Do not expect usual hotel services or amenities - but the experience is magical, way out of the ordinary, unlike any other place, truly special and highly recommended! The owner welcomed us with a glass of wine and dined us in a beautiful hall with magnificent antique hand painted ceramic floors, original art, incredible history behind this property, and delicious food. A wedding here would be truly special. Simply an outstanding place!

Summary: Definitely a very unusual and extremely interesting accommodation option. Staying in a largely intact former very significant monastery was, from a historical perspective, fascinating. We travel a lot and stay in many upscale hotels, but nothing quite like this. Highly recommended!
