The beach is only 200 metres from the house. There are also cliffs 400 metres from the holiday home, which are ideal for sunbathing, cliff jumping, swimming and underwater fishing.
The holiday home is located in Punta Braccetto, in the province of Ragusa, a well-kept seaside resort near S. Croce Camerina/Punta Secca (where the house and beach of Commissario Montalbano in the film adaptations of Camilleri's crime novels are located), just four kilometres from the remains of the ancient Greek city of Kamarina, whose museum houses revealing finds from the classical period, and from the Byzantine centre of Kaukana (remains of an ancient Christian basilica).
400 metres from the holiday home there are cliffs directly facing the water, which are ideal for sunbathing, cliff jumping, swimming and underwater fishing. A white sandy beach is only about 200 metres away.
The seaside resort of Punta Braccetto
Punta Braccetto, which was already inhabited in prehistoric times, was used by the Byzantines and Normans as a landing stage for their ships. At the end of the so-called "Braccio della Coloma", the "Torre Vigliena", a watchtower, was built in 1595 to protect the coast, which was frequently attacked by pirates.
In the area of "Canalotti", characterised by high cliffs and shallows, the Allies landed in 1943.
The beach of Punta Braccetto is a fine, light-coloured sandy beach alternating with pebbles. The coast offers various beach facilities and a CAMPING PLACE; however, there are also some free stretches of beach. Due to the numerous BEACH BARS and restaurants, the beach is very popular with people of all ages, especially in the summer months of July and August. Legambiente and Touring Club Italiano named Punta Braccetto beach one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy and it was included in the "Guida Blu 2014".
